The final finish coat is satin varnish.

This painting uses several hues of the color red plus black and white. The combinations made peaches and pinks which seem to deviate from the red. Looking closely you will notice that even the gray has a reddish cast. Red is such a strong color that it was hard to bring balance into the design. At times it felt like a red hot mess. I left the title unfinished for the viewer to supply what might roll off the tongue: red hot mama, red hot temper, red hot poker -- you fill in the blank.
The painted sides carry on the colors and marks from the surface.
